Course Objective: Two Year Masters Programme in Mathematics aims at developing mathematical ability in students with acute and abstract reasoning.
Course Design: Two years are spread over four semesters each of which consists of 15 weeks (90 working days), a week each for mid semester and end semester examinations. In the first two semesters, focus is on the basic papers in Mathematics like Algebra, Analysis and Topology with basic applied papers like Differential Equations and Discrete Mathematics. In the final semesters, focus is on special papers and skill-based papers. Apart from the usual curriculum, additional courses on applications of Mathematics in various other fields and knowledge of computer programming will be given in each semester.
Methodology: Lectures, Seminars, Workshops, Group Discussion and Extension lectures by experts. Students will be assigned undergraduate teaching.
