| Introduction |
Zoology is such a diverse discipline that there is not any professional society that covers all branches of zoology in a dominant manner. Zoology serves as a valuable foundation to many students for understanding human physiology, anatomy, genetics, embryology, and pathology.

| Overview |
|
Being one of the oldest departments to be established right from the inception of the Institution, it strives to promote all round development of students by inculcating a spirit of inquest, discipline and adventure through various academic and co curricular activities like “Species” an annual intercollegiate subject festival, inquiry- a research publication brought out by the final year students of Zoology every year, a departmental newsletter, Earn while you learn scheme, Green Army –The environment cell of the university (See details under Clubs and Associations). The department also runs two additional courses-UGC sponsored Certificate, Diploma and Post Diploma courses in Pollution Abatement Technology and Certificate course in Vermiculture.
Currently, Dr. Priyadarshini.P Maddi and Dr. Antony. P.U are guiding students for the M.Phil Programme.
