The M.Phil program in Psychology offered by Christ University is a research based program (research degree) and is meant to produce psychologists who are trained in the most advance and innovative research methods and equipped to take up a careers in teaching or research, pursue doctorial programmes in psychology and develop basic competencies for more specialized training in psychology. The program aims at providing students with opportunities to examine emerging specialties in psychology by employing scientific research methods.
The course work consists of four theory papers namely: 1. General Research Methodology 2. Specific Research methods in Psychology 3. Elective I 4. Elective II.
Candidates are expected to submit a dissertation at the end of the second semester after completion of Course work. The Programme covers a comprehensive package of training for research students which includes a solid grounding in research methods, Writing articles for publications in peer reviewed journals, and Communicating research findings to academic and other audiences. In addition, students are encouraged to focus on individualised researches in specialized areas which are supported by electives offered by the university.
