Christ University, Department of Commerce introduced the B.Com (Hons) program to its basket of contemporary and progressive programs from June 2010.This program caters to commerce aspirants who desire to build their professional competence on a higher plateau with specialized knowledge in the field of Business and Commerce.
Objective: The B.Com (Hons) Program is intended to provide strong foundation to students in finance, accounting and taxation. It aims to equip students with the knowledge and competence in the field of business and commerce to pursue a professional career.
Program Details: The B.Com (Hons) course of Christ University is a three-year degree program divided into six semesters. The program is career oriented in its design, course structure and teaching – learning process as compared to the B.Com (Regular).The fifth and the sixth semesters shall have only papers from the chosen twin electives out of the three groups offered - Banking & Insurance, Auditing & Taxation, and Finance & Investment. The program includes internship, project and viva and inter-disciplinary certificate courses. The curriculum is developed duly considering the desired level of knowledge exposure in the context of ever changing environment in global business. The Program will have papers which are common to B.Com (Regular) in addition to certain exclusive papers. The papers in the fifth and sixth semester shall be exclusive.
Number of Seats The course will have an intake of 120 - 150 students
Admission Procedure
Admission will be based on personal interview of candidates short-listed on merit. Weightage for selection will be 60% for marks in the qualifying examination and 40% for performance in the selection process.
